Our Story

In December 2004, CEHRT was born out of a vision to bridge the human resource capacity gap in environmental assessment and management in Ghana. Before this, however, our CEO, Mr. Yaw Amoyaw-Osei, recognized Ghana’s most pressing environmental need: the severe lack of environmental knowledge and apathy, and the urgent need to engage the younger generation. This realization led him to establish an environmental NGO, Green Advocacy Ghana, to pursue that goal. To secure the necessary resources to run the NGO, we needed CEHRT – the consulting firm. Thus, the story of CEHRT cannot be told without Green Advocacy Ghana.

Starting from a modest home office in Regimanuel Estate, Nungua Barrier, CEHRT was co-founded by Mrs. Elizabeth Amoyaw-Osei, a seasoned administrator, and Dr. Edith Clarke, a renowned public health specialist. Over the years, CEHRT has grown steadily, and in 2013, we moved to our current office, marking a significant milestone in our growth.

Drawing from our CEO’s experience as a Director at the Environmental Protection Agency and as a Consultant for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the European Union (for the Minerals Commission), CEHRT adopted a distinctive hands-on approach to training and nurturing talents.

This initiative allowed our consultant trainees to gain practical experience by engaging in real consultancy projects, particularly for donor-funded initiatives, while learning the intricacies of environmental and social assessment. By God’s grace, CEHRT has successfully trained about 60 consultants who are making incredible contributions in various areas.

Initially focusing on capacity building, CEHRT transitioned over time into a prominent consultancy firm. By 2016, we had broadened our portfolio through involvement in high-profile projects, solidifying our position as a leading local consulting firm in Ghana. From 2004 to the present, we have worked on over 200 projects, programs, and plans in the oil and gas, mining, transportation, and other sectors across the country to the glory of God.

Looking ahead, CEHRT envisions a future deeply entrenched in the development and excellence of impact assessment and sustainability in Ghana and Africa. By persistently training professionals in this field and delivering high-quality consulting services, CEHRT aims to enrich the community of practice and uphold standards of excellence in environmental, social, governance, and health assessment and management.

Our CSR

CEHRT demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and positive environmental impact through its corporate social responsibility initiative, Green Advocacy Ghana. This NGO, a sister organisation to CEHRT, focuses on environmental education, circular economy, waste management, and pollution control. CEHRT supports Green Advocacy Ghana by providing financial assistance, office space, and technical expertise for specific projects where the NGO requires additional capacity. This collaboration underscores CEHRT’s dedication to fostering sustainable practices and advancing environmental stewardship.
